Mikel Obi donates $30,000 to Nigerian Olympic football team


Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel has donated 30,000 dollars to the Nigerian Olympic football team in the wake of financial problem facing the team at the Atlanta camp in the United States.


A member of the team who confirms the receipt of the money, reveals the Samson Siasia-led side have not received any money from the Nigeria Football Federation since they left the country.
The 29-year-old Chelsea midfielder, who has been selected as one of the overage players in the squad, has also been named captain of Team Nigeria for the Rio Olympics.
