Nollywood Actress, Stephanie Okereke-Linus has signed an agreement with ARC Entertainment based in Nebraska, for the distribution of her film ‘Dry’ in the United State of America.
A statement from Okereke-Linus said the film ``is a response to the child-marriage controversy in West Africa’’, and focuses on two cultural issues: child marriage, and Vesico Vaginal Fistula (VVP).
According to Okekere-Linus, the film, based on a true life story, showcases the lives of two young girls who were forced to become child brides.
``It is full of intrigues, suspense, unbelievable surprises and the joy of reconciliation and the power of the human spirit that is guaranteed to put a smile on people’s face’’, she said.
The film got nine nominations in the 2015 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Award (AMCVA), Bentonville Film Festival, BON awards, and 2015 ZAFAA Global awards.
Actors in the film include Okereke-Linus herself, Zubaida Ibrahim Fagge, Darwin Shaw, veterans Liz Benson, Olu Jacobs, and William McNamara,
The movie, since its production, has been followed by positive comments from viewers and movie lovers across the country, and around the world.
`Dry’ has been screened in the USA, United Kingdom, and Canada and will also be shown at the Toronto black film festival early 2016.
