Rob was briefly hospitalized last month, and that's when he found out about the diabetes—which, we were told at the time, was a "wake-up call" for the young man.
Learning about the disease has helped him approach his health in a new way, and Khloe has been there to help him focus on both taking care of himself physically and being kind to himself mentally.
But aside from the usual suspects, Rob has also been reconnecting with brother-in-law Lamar Odom, with whom he was always particularly close to before Lamar and Khloe split up.
Rob has visited Lamar since the athlete's release from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center last week after months in the hospital. They take comfort in each other, adds the insider, who adds that they share "a lot of similar demons" regarding their sense of self-worth.
Rob, who loves his nieces and nephews, has also been doting on the newest member of the family, Kim Kardashian's son Saint West.
Not surprisingly, Uncle Rob thinks the little guy is absolutely great.
