Irish broadcaster Gay Byrne suffers heart attack



The Irish broadcaster Gay Byrne has suffered a heart attack.
The 81-year-old was taken to hospital on Tuesday.
He is best known for presenting The Late Late Show on Irish television between 1962 and 1999.
Since then, he has continued to work for the Irish state broadcaster RTÉ, working on television and radio shows.
In a statement, RTÉ said he was recovering well.
"All his friends and colleagues across RTÉ are thinking of him and wish him all the best with his recovery," the statement added.
