Don’t Pay For Services In Dollars. Central Bank of Nigeria

The Central Bank of Nigeria has called on Nigerians to report any service provider or organization that demands foreign currency for payment. Mr. Moses Tule made the call at a news briefing in Abuja.
He said it was against the law to transact business in foreign currency and said that the apex bank would resist any attempt to dollarize the economy.
Mr Tule said illegal foreign currencies were usually proceeds of crime or sourced through unscrupulous bureau de change operators.
The briefing followed recent moves by some commercial banks, restricting the use of debit cards by Nigerians abroad.
